Zoe-perry

Perry was the daughter of Laurie Metcalf (actor) and Jeff Perry (actor). The role of Jackie Harris was played by her mother in both the two shows she starred in on Roseanne. Perry was forbidden to begin acting in front of her family until she reached an adulthood stage, because they were concerned about the stress it would create. Perry was shy during high school and was not a performer. She began acting at Northwestern University to gain friends as she transferred from Boston University. Perry following her graduation from Boston University moved to New York in search of television roles. Perry was able to land small roles in shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Then, homelessness brought her back to California in search of theater jobs. She and her mother starred on Broadway together in The Other Place, in 2013. In 2015, she appeared alongside Kevin McKidd alongside her mother in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prizewinning drama Anna Christie. It is part of the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble is located in West Los Angeles. Perry was in nine episodes of The Family, an ABC thriller The Family in 2016. In 2017 she had her own recurring part on her own ABC political thriller Scandal starring her father. She played the role of an older Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) in Young Sheldon. This spin-off episode of CBS's The Big Bang Theory was another portrayal by her younger mother. The actress was chosen for the role despite her close familial connection to the character.
