Pickler was raised in a difficult environment. As a toddler she left her mother's violent relationship. Then she returned to Pickler's world in 1995 when she was given custody of her. The situation did not go very well. Pickler went back to her grandparents when she turned 12. The grandparents helped her through to adulthood. Pickler was required to care of her children without parents. The time she had was limited, and she figured out how to care for her family at a young time.
