Alexandra Cooper was born on August 21, 1994, in Newtown, Pennsylvania, to Bryan and Laurie Cooper. Her father played hockey at the University of Wisconsin. Boston University offered Cooper a sports scholarship after coaches noticed the athleticism she displayed. Cooper decided to accept the scholarship offer and joined Boston University's women's soccer team in Division 1 during her four-year college education. In her final season she played captain co-captain. Cooper was a leader in four M.C.T. Championships. She also took home the Prep-A crown for four seasons. Cooper was also awarded All-Prep First Team as well as All-Area First Team recognition as a senior and junior. Cooper did not only excel in athletics. As a student Cooper developed an interest in the field of journalism and entertainment. It was then that she made the decision to go into this career. She holds a film and television degree from Boston University.
